Memorial giving is a tradition that dates back to the very beginning of the Church. Early Christians would memorialize those who were pioneers of the faith by erecting monuments, providing furnishings, and sometimes even building entire buildings in memory of the honored saints of the church.
We continue this tradition with the practice of giving monetary memorials in memory of those whose witness has enriched the life of First United Methodist Church. These memorials are placed in a memorial fund and dispersed at the discretion of a Memorial Committee. The fruit of these gifts can be found throughout the church from the Sanctuary where we worship, to Sunday School rooms where we learn, and the Church Office where we dream and implement life changing ministry.
