Faith Explorers

Faith Explorers: A Discipleship Experience for students in 1st-3rd grades

The Goal
Introduce elementary age children in 1st through 3rd grades to Worship, the Sacraments, and Scripture.

The Approach
Engage children in interactive experiences that demonstrate:

  1. the purpose and different styles of worship,
  2. the nature and form of Baptism and Communion,
  3. the structure and overall meaning of the Bible.

The Format
7 monthly sessions, 90 minutes each.  All sessions are Sunday afternoons 4:00 p.m.–5:30 p.m.  Drop off and pick up at the Gagaball pit, weather permitting.  Bad weather drop off and pick up at the portico by Church Office entrance.

Each session will have 3 parts-30 minutes for snack and fellowship, 30 minutes learning time, 30 minutes game and hang time. Learning sessions are interactive in multiple settings around the church and are based on a take home lesson to share with family.

Scope and Sequence
Each of the three one-year programs presents a different aspect of worship, Sacraments, and Scripture which can either stand alone or cumulatively create a deeper knowledge base.

Year End Celebration
Sunday, April 2, 2017 is Road Trip to LegoLand in Grapevine. The group leaves the church at 10:40 a.m. after Sunday School, returning about 6 p.m. that evening.
